NORTHLAND'S DESIRE AND COMMITMENT TO YOU
From marriage preparation to the wedding ceremony, Northland values the covenant of
marriage. The elders, pastors, staff and ministry leaders want your wedding day to be a wonderful
and memorable event, but especially desire that your life-time commitment to each other will
reflect and communicate Christ’s love. To that end, the Marriage Preparation and Pastoral Services
teams are committed and ready to help you build a strong foundation for your marriage and plan your
wedding day.
MARRIAGE AND WEDDING PREPARATION STEPS
As you begin your journey together, we ask you to each completely read
through Northland’s
Marriage and Wedding
Preparation Guide
. This will answer many of your questions and guide you through your
preparation process. If you have been through a divorce, a recovery process is very important. Our
recommended option for you is to go through our Divorce Care ministry prior to beginning marriage
preparation.
MARRIAGE PREPARATION CLASS
We invite any couple, engaged, not engaged (but seriously considering engagement) or married
without benefit of pre-marital counseling, to take the Marriage Preparation Class. However,
this class is required for any couple seeking to be married by a Northland minister or at one of
our facilities. To get the most out of marriage preparation, we recommend you begin this
process at least six months before your wedding. Our class is offered twice each year
beginning in January and August. To sign up for the next class, submit an
online
application
, or use the application in the
Marriage and Wedding
Preparation Guide
.
